AlertDC hilarity continues

July 20, 2010

So like a year ago I posted a hysterical message from the AlertDC warning system that had to have been written by an intern (and which was quickly edited by someone higher up).

Well, yesterday I caught these two messages being sent out, back-to-back (pay attention to the text in bold):

6:18 PM: “Update/ From NWS stated that the District of Columbia will see a small shower, but the heavy stuff will be to the South and West of us.”

And then at 6:34PM: “Correction/ From NWS stated that the District of Columbia will see a small shower, but the heavier rain will be to the South and West of us.”

BUSTED, AlertDC intern. Thanks for keepin’ it real.

In other news, Plan Paris is still in the process of being realized. I’m looking for jobs back home in Tejas (so if you’ve got one for me, holla back) and trying to navigate selling my furniture, finishing my job, saying goodbye to all my friends, and somehow managing to visit all the restaurants I missed over the last 2 years (finale will be at Komi in August!).

Yikesabee, what a full last few weeks. Date of departure: September 8th. Get ready. It’s going to be epic.
